The One Item of Clothing You Need for Summer –> Fall

I refuse to say sayonara to summer until September 22, but that doesn’t mean I’m not pumped for fall fashion (read: wearing leggings six days a week, what?). But there is one item I’m especially excited to flip the script on: The kimono. I wore them over my swimsuits this summer (whilst mixing vodka dranks on the beach, of course)…

And can’t wait to fall-ify them with more clothing underneath.

Whether you go silk, cotton, lace, fringe, no-fringe, long, short, neutral, bright, animal print, or tribal, a kimono adds automatic boho flair to any outfit. And it’s the perfect way to sneak transition summer pieces (ahem, like a white romper) into fall.

These beauts take cutoffs and booties into high style territory.

And they look just as good with your #badbitch leather pants.

The coziness factor and perfection for traveling go without saying.

Want to start shopping? (Duh.) South Moon Under (my favorite store on the planet) and ASOS have tons of fantastic kimonos. And, of course, you can never go wrong with the boho boss that is Free People.

Come on and get your kimono on.
