A Reusable Bottle for Water Snobs

I’m a water snob. And no, I don’t mean in the “I only drink Smartwater or Fiji” way. I mean that my taste buds are very sensitive when it comes to H2O, so I prefer top-notch aqua from a spring or a good filter. For the record, I think Dasani is gross and it’s actually water from the Chattahoochee that they somehow turn clear.

I (used to) buy a ton of bottled water and of course I recycle, although I still hate the thought of all that plastic. But I’ve never found a reusable bottle that didn’t make the water taste funny…until now.
bkr-4020985Say hello to your BFF: The Bkr ($28). It’s GLASS (amazing), but has a silicone sleeve (with color names like Bambi and Scout) so it’s cute AND protected (but I wouldn’t go throwing it against a brick wall or anything). As for the technical stuff:  Food grade polypropylene cap + silicone gasket, FDA approved, BPA-free, BPA replacement free, and phthalate free. I’m guessing that all translates to “Won’t give you cancer.”

Bkr’s are dishwasher-safe (just remove the sleeve) and they hold 16 ounces of fluid (size of a standard bottle of water), but the compact design makes them seem super small and they fit perfectly in your bag (not to mention that handy handle). Compare to another 16-ouncer with a not-so-genius design:
img_8598-5271262I’m so obsessed, you guys. And I’ve been feeling like such a planet saver now that I’m filling my Bkr from my filter instead of grabbing a plastic bottle when I leave the house.

Cara and I have been hitting the bottle hard at Flywheel and Flybarre…

In Atlanta, you can find these gems at Atlanta Activewear (remember, the store that got me into red spandex pants?) and of course, you can order online (PS, a portion of proceeds goes to charity). Rumor has it, they’re coming out with a liter size soon.

Oh, and one more thing. Gisele uses one.
