Fashion + Beauty Freaks: Get Ready for This Collaboration

Designer Jason Wu is crushing it in the fashion world for his bold (but actually wearable) designs, eye-popping colors, and flattering lines, but his models really gave people whiplash at the Fall 2013 shows not only for their ensembles (and toothpick bods), but for their faces. More specifically…their fierce indigo eyes.

And Lancome was like, “Uh, hey guys, you can thank us for that.”

And now we can thank them for bringing us the goods straight from the runway. Jason Wu’s first-ever makeup line is 15 pieces of Lancome perfection that launches in Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman TODAY, and if you want it, you better high-tail to the mall like, right now, because it’s already sold out (via pre-orders) in some stores. But hark the Internet angels: There are still some pieces available online.

I went to the “Perfect Palette Tea” at the St. Regis Atlanta (where I drank a spot of tea, but definitely polished off some champagne) and got to preview the line. I’m loving the eye shadow palettes ($51) that can be used to create dramatic, bold-bright peepers like the aforementioned models or toned down using less of the accent hue for a more earthy eye.

Also: Navy Definicils mascara ($29). In an Elle interview, Wu says, “That navy mascara, for one thing, is already killing it because it’s a twist on a classic. It’s such a good statement look without being so dramatic. It’s a great way to get a little color into your palette without being very ostentatious. It also feels really modern today.”

I tried it and fell in love. I had forgotten how incredible Definicils is in general (length + volume + separation), but the hint of navy is killer.
img_2854-3452325 I’m digging the lipsticks ($28) and MATCHING nail polishes ($15); pinks and reds are coming in HOT for fall fingers, ladies. And the dual-ended shadow/liner brush ($35) is primo #DoubleDutyBeauty.

But most importantly, at the makeup tea party…….THEMED TREATS.

img_2867-3071703Although we all agreed the chocolate “lipstick” looked a little “erotic.”

Which makes this even creepier.
lipstick-5636674Sorry for (tea) partying.

And best of luck to all you fashion/beauty freaks who are trying to snag this limited-time collection. Trust me, it will Wu you.
